Katy Hepner has worked for the University of Michigan Athletic Department since 2007. She began as an Assistant Director of Marketing & Promotions focusing on volleyball, men’s & women’s basketball, and baseball. In 2011 she was name the Special Events Coordinator and tasked with creating and successively implementing a new Premium Rental Program. Katy enjoys working with each and every client to help plan an unforgettable event!
Katy is a 2007 (BA, Sport Management & BS, Physical Education) and 2010 (MA, Sport Management) graduate of the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology.
Outside of Michigan Athletics, Katy is a certified Jazzercise Instructor and has taught youth & competitive dance for 15+ years. Katy, her husband (a baseball coach at Wayne State University), and son Jackson and daughter Lily reside in Dexter, MI.

Kait Zdybel joined the University of Michigan Athletic Department in April 2023. Previously, Kait worked as the Special Events Assistant and helped manage the Stadium Tour Program along with assisting at several special events. In April 2024, Kait transitioned to her current role as our Special Events Coordinator and continues to enjoy working with a diverse group of people and delivering exceptional service to everyone.
Kait is a 2022 (BA, Recreation and Event Management, Minor in Outdoor and Environmental Education) graduate of Central Michigan University, College of Health & Human Services.
Outside of Michigan Athletics, Kait loves spending time outdoors enjoying a variety of different activities. She is also an avid Detroit sports fan and loves to show her support for all the Detroit teams.

Kaprina Root has worked for the University of Michigan Athletic Department since 2018. She began as an Athletic Facilities Assistant at The Big House and Crisler Arena. She assisted in supporting the facility managers with schedules, set up and tear down, and equipment storage. In 2021, Kaprina then became a Facility and Special Event Assistant. Her focus and responsibility changed to managing events and ensuring an exceptional experience and level of service to all clients. Now Kaprina is a Special Events Coordinator. She loves working with diverse groups of people and creating a memorable experience for everyone.
Kaprina is a 2019 (BS, Sport Management, Minor in Communications) graduate of Eastern Michigan University, College of Health & Human Services.
Outside of Michigan Athletics, Kaprina loves hanging out with her friends and family and going on adventures. Kaprina, her husband and golden doodle, Bentley reside in Canton, MI.

Kayla Buckey joined the University of Michigan Athletic Department in November of 2022. Previously Kayla worked as an Athletic Facilities/Event Intern at the Big House and Crisler Arena where she assisted with facility game day operations, special events, and event set up and tear down. In May of 2024 Kayla transitioned to the Special Events Assistant role and she now manages the Stadium Tour Program along with assisting with special events at The Big House, Crisler Arena, and Golf Course. Kayla enjoys working with each and every individual to ensure that they have an enjoyable experience here at U of M.
Kayla is a 2023 (BA, Sport Management, Minor in General Business) graduate of Eastern Michigan University, College of Health & Human Services.
Outside of work, Kayla loves spending time outdoors, hanging out with friends/family, and staying active in the gym and playing volleyball.
